The Villa

The Great House is an exceptional luxury villa rental set within two and a half acres of immaculately landscaped tropical gardens on Barbados’ prestigious coastline. Originally built in 1978, The Great House was fully restored and extended in 2019, transforming it into one of the island’s most impressive private estates.

Today, the villa offers an extraordinary range of facilities, including a large games room, home cinema, spa treatment rooms, a fully equipped gym, conference room, and a floodlit US Open–style tennis court. With a full complement of professional staff, every aspect of a guest’s stay is handled with care, discretion, and attention to detail.

The Location

The Great House enjoys an enviable beachfront position with approximately 100 metres of prime Caribbean shoreline. The setting offers direct access to crystal-clear waters and uninterrupted ocean views, creating an atmosphere of complete tranquillity and privacy.

At the heart of the outdoor living space is the Great Bar, positioned beside a spectacular infinity pool that appears to merge seamlessly with the sea beyond. Whether relaxing poolside, enjoying a drink at the bar, or strolling along the shoreline, guests are immersed in the natural beauty of Barbados’ west coast at every turn.

The Bedrooms

The property features 12 expansive bedroom suites, comfortably accommodating up to 30 guests. Each suite is generously proportioned and thoughtfully designed to provide privacy, comfort, and serenity. With the estate arranged across multiple buildings, guests can enjoy personal space even when travelling as part of a large group.

Every suite includes luxurious Egyptian cotton linens, Penhaligon toiletries, and nightly turndown service, ensuring a consistently high standard of comfort. The layout allows families, friends, or corporate groups to enjoy both shared experiences and peaceful retreat within the same estate.

The Great House sits within 2.5 acres of beautifully manicured gardens and is comprised of five separate buildings: the Great House itself, the Carriage House, two newly built cottages (with flexible king or twin configurations), and Hillaby House.

Outdoor spaces are designed for both entertainment and tranquillity. Guests can enjoy formal and informal dining areas, a wood-fired pizza oven, a full beach bar, and expansive lawns framed by lily ponds and lush tropical planting. Two private “perch beaches” are positioned on either side of the property and equipped with sun loungers, ensuring beach access and privacy regardless of tide conditions.

The floodlit tennis court, watercraft, and watersports facilities further enhance the outdoor experience, offering something for guests of all ages.
