This is the perfect place on Canouan to experience a refined meal, a poolside afternoon relaxed on a lounger, and a serene dip into the surrounding Caribbean waters.
For this quaint bar, the name says it all. This unique establishment doesn’t offer guests a full menu or fine dining; it’s the unique location of this spot that makes Happy Bar so special. Placed out in the middle of Clifton Harbor, this tiny man-made island is home to a bar covering just about every square centimetre of the island. An important detail is that Happy Bar can only be reached by sea.
We recommend chartering a speedboat or yacht for the day and tying up at Happy Bar’s dock. Since Happy Bar doesn’t have a website yet, we recommend taking a peek at the island bar here and giving them a call before you set sail. Their timetables are anything but regular!

Kingstown restaurants and bars are known to be laid-back and casual. While might not be the best location for fine dining, stopping in to have a meal in the city gives visitors an authentic experience of local culture and cuisine.
Mona’s serves up local vegetables and herbs alongside traditionally prepared meats. The meals are flavorful and filling, and remind diners of something their grandma could have cooked up. The restaurant is just steps away from the Kingstown Port, making it a great place to have lunch on the way to the ferry or the airport. Another authentic Kingstown eatery, 52 Ocean Heights, may prove hard to find at first glance, as the restaurant doesn’t even display a sign. It’s an excellent option for guests looking for an authentic Kingstown adventure, as 52 Ocean Heights is a popular spot for locals to gather and enjoy a meal or a drink together. Although no fine dining options are offered here, 52 Ocean Heights serves up delicious classics like burgers and pizza. One of the larger islands on our list, Barbados’ shores boast a variety of snorkelling locations, pristine beaches, and access to protected coral reefs.
#1. Carlisle Bay Marine Park
This bay is a popular choice among visitors to Barbados. Carlisle Bay is located in a protected Marine Park and a UNESCO World Heritage site in the southwest corner of the island. There are 6 shipwrecks for snorkellers to explore, beginning at a depth of 12 feet. Originally, Carlisle Bay maintained an important port for trading, but now visitors will find luxury yachts and sailboats, sunbathers, and divers here

#2. Gibbs Beach
Lesser-known Gibbs Beach, frequented for its soft sand, secluded location, and calm tides, is a wonderful Caribbean beach for beginner snorkelling. With its tall, leafy palm trees, fair-skinned beachgoers can be rest assured that shade is nearby while they paddle easily in the small waves here. There are no facilities, but restaurants in Holetown and Speightstown are nearby.
Curaçao
This island is known as a fantastic spot for a snorkel vacation because of its picturesque waters and well-maintained shores.
#3. Playa Lagoon
This smaller, protected beach is a fantastic spot to break out the goggles and take a deep dive to explore submerged rocks and cliffs. As its shores are safe from bigger waves and strong winds, visitors often find a variety of marine life here, including turtles, tropical birds, and colorful fish, making it one of the best snorkel spots on Curaçao.

Submerged beneath the waters of Winward Bay, snorkellers will find a mile-long reef protecting Canouan’s beaches. This reef makes for excellent snorkelling, well as spectacular sites for both novice and experienced divers. As this bay is far from the capital city, its shores remain quiet and calm, even in the height of tourist season.

A fabulous stop for animal lovers, visitors to the Devil’s Table are likely to come across anything from octopus to spiny lobsters around the shore and tidepools of Devil’s Table. This shallow reef is a popular spot for scuba divers and snorkellers alike; on any given day visitors are guaranteed to see colorful fish and other marine life playing in the clear blue waters.
